Lip Balm...Naturally

OK, I admit it. I’m a lip balm addict. Having suffered from cold sores since I was very young, I am constantly focused on my lips and what may cause or prevent an outbreak. It could be 30 unprotected seconds in the sun, a slight fever or, if my husband is really lucky, fluctuating hormones that trigger the cold sore to rear it’s ugly little (or large) head and make my life miserable for a few days.

This weekend I made the biggest mistake a person with problematic lips could make. An impromptu trip to Disneyland in sunny Anaheim, CA with absolutely no Lip Balm in sight. This is seriously unlike me as at any given time, you would find precious tubes full of the silky manna within a three foot radius of my person.

You can only imagine what I awoke to this morning. If you said a blistering, bothersome, behemoth, blight on my life you would be right. My entire bottom lip, a giant cold sore.

Now you can understand my inspiration for today’s article. Even though you may not suffer the embarrassment of cold sores (HSV-1), these lip balms can still be a source of healing comfort for chapped lips and even minor cuts!

Herbal Lip Balm

This is the balm you’ve been looking for!  Our Herbal Lip Balm provides soothing and moisturizing protection for your lips.  Made with organic calendula and chamomile extracts, olive oil, beeswax and vitamin E, it provides healing protection and keeps the lips soft and supple.

This little gem of a lip balm is one of our most requested items.

“Smooth as silk and lasts a long time. Other lip balms tend to make your lips dryer so you have to keep using it more, this one lasts all day!”

Herb P Lip Balm

You’ve probably already guessed it, but this is my go to lip balm for helping my lips heal quickly during a “breakout”.  This balm is specially formulated with Eucalyptus, Myrrh and Tea Tree Essential Oils (to name a few) as well as Vitamin E and Olive Oil to not only increase healing time during a breakout but to help prevent breakouts altogether.

This is an excellent balm even if you don’t suffer from Cold Sores and tastes delicious!

"When my lips feel dry, I slather them in this lip balm and they feel soft for days after. The lemongrass smell was a bit of a surprise, but I have come to like it a lot. I would buy this again."

The reviews are in:

"This lip balm is THE BEST. Great moisturizing capabilities, an amazingly fresh scent and cool sensation from the peppermint oil, and a light, natural sheen. I live in a cold city and feel completely lost when I find myself outside without this balm. I'm addicted!"

Don’t forget that what goes on the lips gets ingested! It’s important to note that our balms don’t contain anything harmful (like petroleum waxes, fragrance, colorants, etc.). Check the ingredients of anything that goes on the lips to make sure they are organic and/or natural. Your lips will thank you!

I agree - lip balm is an essential that maybe a new product to carry it could be designed. I like the idea of lip balm on a necklace - like a lanyard. Of course - you have to remember to wear it as well. Anyway - my wife use to have bad cold sores - at times throughout the year. She started using our honey to treat them. It had healing properties that worked as good as the abrva treatment. She was telling me about a week ago, that she hadn't had one in over a year. We know cold sores are caused by a virus and you will have it all your life. Maybe the honey helped cause the virus to stay in remission longer than usual - or it could be some other reasons. Anyway - honey and propolis (both bee products) have healing properties. We continue to use our lip balms and we agree with you wholeheartedly - use them to protect our bodies.

Lip balm or lip salve is a wax-like substance applied topically to the lips of the mouth to relieve chapped or dry lips, angular cheilitis, stomatitis, or cold sores. Lip balm often contains beeswax or carnauba wax, camphor, cetyl alcohol, lanolin, paraffin, and petrolatum, among other ingredients. Some varieties contain dyes, flavor, fragrance, menthol, phenol, salicylic acid, and sunscreens.``;^
