Recipe Of The Week: Healing Skin Tonic

 
Healing Skin Tonic
For acne, troubled skin, aftershave, germ and bacteria killer, hand sanitizer
Ingredients Needed:
Travel Size Spray Bottle - 1
These bottles can be found in the travel section at stores such as Target or Wal-Mart. They hold from 2-4 oz. and are the perfect size for this recipe. You can recycle and use an empty used spray bottle but just be sure to clean in hot water before using for this project.
Witch Hazel – 2 oz (if using a 2 oz bottle, don’t fill to the top, leave room for the essential oils)
Witch Hazel is a tried-and-true healing liquid that works as an astringent and has excellent antiseptic abilities. Witch Hazel is excellent for skin abrasions, inflammation, burns and acne. Witch hazel can be found at most pharmacies, grocers and department stores (like Wal-Mart and is usually located with alcohol and Epsom salts).
Tea Tree Essential Oil – 10 drops
Excellent Antibacterial, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties
Lemon Essential Oil – 8 drops
Excellent astringent and clarifying properties
Lavender Essential Oil – 5 drops
Excellent antibacterial and soothing properties
Lemongrass Essential Oil – 5 drops
Excellent astringent and clarifying properties
Directions:
Pour all ingredients into bottle. Shake Well. Allow 24 hours before use. Store at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight. Shelf life = 1 year.
Usage:
Shake well before each use. Spray lightly on face after it has been washed. Allow a few seconds to dry before applying any other skin product, such as a moisturizer. Use daily every time the face is washed. A perfect aftershave for men. Also a great natural hand sanitizer!
